One more international Cricket Stadium for Telangana, warangalTelangana state is very soon going to have its second international Cricket Stadium besides the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. This new stadium will be coming up in Warangal. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao cleared the proposal of the district administration. The sports department will approach the BCCI for financial assistance for constructing the stadium.

The stadium is planned with a seating capacity of 60,000. This stadium idea is to give filip to the the state government’s grand plans to develop Warangal into an IT, sports and education hub. Earlier in February, IT Minister KTR inaugurated Cyient’s Infotech Centre in Warangal, the first big IT venture in Warangal.

Warangal district administration identified 16 acres in Timmapur village on the city’s outskirts and submitted proposals. Besides the funds by BCCI, the state government is also ready to allot funds for stadium as part of Warangal Special Development Authority. The proposed site is near to the old airport and Fourth Police Battalion, which would provide air connectivity and security to stadium.
