One More Adverse Judgement for AP Government from High Court

It has become a habit for Andhra Pradesh Government to get adverse judgments from the High Court. The High Court issued a mid-term ruling on the Government Order taking away the land allotted to Amar Raja Infratech Pvt Ltd. In the G.O. 33 issued last month, the government said that the APIIC Limited was permitted to take back the unutilized land of the M/s. Amara Raja Infratech (P) Ltd.

The Government had decided to take away 253.61 acres out of the 483.27 acres allocated to the company on the grounds that it was found to have not utilized the land for the purpose for which it was allotted. Moreover, the company did not fulfill its promise to invest ₹2,100 crores with a potential employment generation of 20,000 people.

The actual employment achieved so far was only 4,310. The company approached the court and had its way. Telugu Desam Party alleges that the State Government is resorting to Political Vendetta since Amara Raja owner, Galla Jayadev is TDP’s MP from Guntur.

He is also a strong supporter of the agitation of farmers in favor of Amaravati.
