YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has tried to stall the appointment of NV Ramana as the Chief Justice of India by making wild allegations. But he could not stop the appointment.
NV Ramana is retiring later this month and suddenly the AP CM wants to be in the good books of the outgoing CJI.
Today, Ramana had inaugurated Court buildings in Vijayawada along with Jagan. The CM is hosting a lunch for the CJI today.
Jagan also cleared the file of Acharya Nagarjuna University awarding a honorary doctorate to NV Ramana. The doctorate will be presented by the Governor on August 20 on the occasion of the 37th and 38th Convocation of the university.
All this did not seem to have pleased Ramana. Speaking at the Court buildings inauguration today, he took some indirect jibes at Jagan.
“Losing faith in the judiciary is a danger to the survival of democracy. CM Jagan promised that he will cooperate with the judiciary in the state,” NV Ramana said.
This seems to be an indirect jibe against how Jagan and YSR Congress leaders frequently make comments against the judiciary and Ramana himself.
“Happy to see CM Jagan speak in Telugu. I hope you will help in the completion of building constructions in Amaravati,” the CJI added.
These statements are targeting Jagan’s obsession about removing Telugu medium from schools and decimating Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
