Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao is seen as the Pride of Telugu People for no simple reason. He is the only leader who questioned the hegemony of North Leadership and stood for the pride of Telugu race and also inculcated the same in the entire South.
NTR is the one who dared Congress and showed the way to the country towards the alternate leadership. Those were the days there is no alternative to Congress and people did not even think of voting anyone except Congress. He braved the Congress arrogance and took the bull by its horns.
NTR is the first leader who thought of welfare schemes which will really care for the people. His flagship schemes like 2 Rupees Rice, Liquor Ban etc are still flagship schemes of many governments today which only indicate the connect NTR had with the masses.
Had his political journey continued and he lasted a decade more, Indian Politics would have seen a new era of politics and a Southern Leader would have cemented his place in the Delhi. After his demise, Telugu History had metamorphized into a different phase and into two different states now.
