No Takers for Andhra Nativity? There are very few takers for Nativity change in Andhra Pradesh as there is only 306 application for such change in the first Six months after bringing the amendment to Article 371D. Earlier, the employees were reluctant to shift to Andhra Pradesh due to this local issue.

They feared that they and their children will become ‘non-local’ when they migrate to Vijayawada and Guntur. As a result, their educational and job opportunities will be affected. But then the response to the nativity change says a different story altogether.

The nativity change will be applicable to all those coming to AP from June 2nd, 2014 to 2017 June 1st. The poor response may be due to lack of proper awareness, the officials think. However, they expect that the demand will go up once the new academic year begins in June.

Interestingly, the highest number of Nativity Change applications came from Prakasam district but not the Krishna and Guntur districts which are in the capital region. Krishna, Guntur, Srikakulam and Vishakapatnam are in the next positions. Chittoor and Anantapur are at the bottom of the table with just 4 applications each.
