The Supreme Court has clarified that it will only list the matter before an appropriate bench in January 2019 in a disappointment to the BJP led Central Government who was pressing for the speedy hearing and disposal of the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi title suit.
The central Government is keen on getting a favorable judgment in favor of the Hindus before the 2019 elections so that it will be beneficial for the party. So, this has come as a massive disappointment for the party. With Supreme Court deciding when the apex court will start the hearing on the disputed land title case in Ayodhya in January, the verdict before 2019 is ruled out.
On the other side, Hindutvawadis and the party supporters are hoping that the Government will bring out an Ordinance to ensure the Temple construction begins before the 2019 elections. But then, legal experts say such a step may be unlikely because it will involve defying of the Judiciary.
