Things are becoming extremely difficult for TDP (TS) to survive in Telangana. The party which came third in the last elections was hit badly by back to back defections and the Cash for Vote case and from then it is only a fight for the existence.
The by-elections for 15 MPTCs in the state earlier this month reveals that things are very tough for TDP (TS) in the state. Out of the 15 seats, TRS managed to win 8, Congress managed 3 and TDP (TS) only one with remaining going to Independents.
Interestingly, Congress is the closest rival in all the eight seats TRS won and TRS is the second closest party in all the three seats Congress won. That indicates TDP (TS) has registered no improvement in this three years and is continuously on the downslide. Gummadavelli in Warangal district is the only MPTC TDP (TS) managed to win.
