Senior Actress Khushboo who has been with Indian National Congress (INC) party for a long time had quit it earlier in the day. She was the National Spokesperson for the Congress.
And now, within hours, Khushboo has officially joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Also, the actress who has been highly vocal and critical of BJP, in the past, says that she has now understood that the country needs the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to move in the right direction.
The decision of role reversal has not come as a surprise one bit to the followers. It has been a work in progress over the past few months. Khushboo expressing her support to the New Education Policy was where it started, and the very recent message about ‘change’ confirmed the deal. However, many did not expect it to happen so soon, probably.
As far as the Congress is concerned, Khushboo wrote an open letter to Sonia Gandhi before stepping down. She said that voices like hers in the party are suppressed by a few people at the top (in the party) who have no connection with the ground reality.
The core contention among all these is the ticket to contest in the 2021 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. It is heard that BJP is going to give her the nomination, and hence the decision. Khushboo would also double up as the face of the party in the state. It once again highlights the fact that there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics. It is all about the opportunity at the right time.
