No official celebrations for Hyderabad Liberation - KCRSuccumbing to the pressure of MIM, Telangana government is not holding Hyderabad Liberation day celebrations officially even this year too. Telangana CM KCR himself gave a clarity on this. “Unnecessary issues are being created by political parties on liberation day celebrations. Parties can celebrate the day in their party offices”, KCR said.

Interestingly KCR did not clarify why government will not celebrate it officially. TRS used to stage protests in the United state for the then Congress government not celebrating Hyderabad Liberation day officially. September 17th, 1948 is a historically memorable day for Telangana people. On this day, the region was liberated from Nizam rule. Nizam claims Hyderabad to be a part of Pakistan then.

The then Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel annexed Telangana by military action and got it under Indian Union ending the tyrannical Nizam rule. It is said the MIM bosses clearly told KCR not to resort to celebrating the end of Nizam rule which MIM consider as anti-Islam activity. We have also seen KCR heaping praises on Nizam many times in the last 14 months.
