No New Faces From AP and TS In Modi's Jumbo CabinetPrime Minister Narendra Modi‘s cabinet team underwent a major reshuffle. In the first expansion after winning the second term, Modi asked several ministers of important portfolios to resign and inducted a whopping forty-three new ministers into his team.

Even with a jumbo cabinet, there has been no single new name from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Kishan Reddy who is a Minister Of State until now has been given a Cabinet rank. Poll-bound states are given more importance in this reshuffle and so, AP and Telangana did not get a berth.

Andhra Pradesh did not have any representation and to compensate that Former MP Haribabu is sent as Governor to Mizoram. It looks like the political benefit is calculated while deciding the team and in the process, Andhra Pradesh lost. Even though BJP’s prospects in Telangana are looking bright, the focus is primarily on the states which have elections in the near future.

Dharmapuri Aravind, CM Ramesh, and GVL Narasimha Rao who were said to be favorites to get a berth will stand disappointed at the end.
