No Elections in Andhra Pradesh Even If Supreme Court Allows?Andhra Pradesh Government is going hammer and tong with the State Election Commission to stop the local elections in the state. The Government is using the employees assocations in the name of Corona to stop the elections.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Government’s petition in the Supreme Court against the election will come to hearing on Monday. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Rishikesh Rai Bench will be hearing the petition. On the other hand, it is said that the Government is making alternative plans to stall the elections even if the apex court allows.

Buzz in the political circles is that the employees will go on an indefinite strike if the Government does not get a favorable verdict in the Supreme Court. Venkat Ramireddy, the president of the AP employees unions hinted indirectly at the same and said the election commission may work with any willing employees.

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is going to retire on March 31st. The Government is keen on stalling the elections until then so that the elections can be conducted under a new Election Commissioner appointed by itself.
