No dropping of Telangana lessons from AP Textbooks!Last week, we have a controversy in the Telugu States about the syllabus committee of Andhra Pradesh recommending the deletion of lessons related to Telangana from AP text books. Some of the lessons marked for deletion are of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao on Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, the first Chief Minister of Hyderabad state, and a lesson on the peasants struggle against the Nizam’s rule.

While this lead to discussion and controversies, Andhra Pradesh government had decided not to go on with this change. Accordingly, the SCERT director decided that there will not be any change in the syllabus from Class V to Class X in all subjects for his year.

On the other side, Telangana Ministers warned that they should remove the statues of AP personalities from Hyderabad in case, the lessons on Telangana are removed. So AP government rightly averted an unnecessary controversy.
