Caste Politics play a big role in Vijayawada Politics. Kammas even though not present in significant number are rich and influential. They play crucial role in the outcome of Vijayawada Parliament seat. But interestingly all the three major parties have given tickets to Kamma candidates this time and needless to say Caste votes split among them and eventually Caste may not be a major factor in the city which is one of the front-runners for Possible Seema Andhra capital.
Devineni Avinash who is the Congress candidate may not be a favourite for the position as Congress chances in the region are heavily dented due to the bifurcation issue. The major war is between TDP’s Kesineni Nani and YSR Congress’ Koneru Prasad. Koneru Prasad is fat rich. His money will be huge bonus for him and at the same time, going to jail along with YS Jagan in corruption cases may go against him. On paper TDP’s Kesineni Nani appears to be a better candidate of all. Having all said, one can never easily guess Vijayawada Politics
