Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar Election CommissionerThe Election Commission has directed the Collectors not to rush into declaring the unanimous results in Guntur and Chittoor districts. They were directed to keep the results on hold until the Election Commission gives the green signal.

The state election commission has directed that the results be announced only after the complaints received are resolved. It also directed the Chittoor and Guntur collectors to send reports on election complaints. The SEC warned that action would be taken against the concerned authorities if any deficiencies were found.

The Election Commission has opined that the unanimous results of these two districts are abnormally high and the commission will look at why they are different for other districts. 110 panchayats in Chittoor district and 67 panchayats in Guntur district received only one nomination.

There are media reports of brute force of the YSR Congress being the reason for these one-sided results. The ruling party which is already disgruntled with Nimmagadda will be even angry with this decision.
