power-ap-ts

The power problems between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have got a new dimension with a new tussle regarding the TRS government deciding to start power generation from the seventh unit at Nagarjunsagar Hydro Power station. APGENCO requested to stall the production for couple of days as the work at the tail pond project beneath Nagarjuna Sagar has just been completed and the engineering equipment is needed to be shifted from the project site.

However Telangana government rejected the proposal stating that the delay will further increase the power woes of Telangana. The 29th state of India is facing a shortage of about 14.50 million units a day and the power production from the seventh unit of Nagarjuna Sagar could generate 100 MW power a day which will add more than 5 million units of power to the state grid.
