For the first time in the history of Telangana, a man weighing 240 kilos was operated at the famous Osmania Government Hospital in Hyderabad.
Going into the story, a medical team of 15 members at Osmania Hospital performed Bariatric surgery on Muneendar who weighed over 240 KGs.
Muneendar had been suffering from obesity from a young age and he put on so much weight that he is unable to even walk properly. The family consulted with a private hospital and they quoted Rs 10-12 lakh for the surgery. The family then came to Osmania hospital, where Muneendar was prepared for surgery.
For the first time in Telangana, a government hospital performed bariatric surgery. Through the same, the patient’s small intestine was partially removed to reduce the food intake.
The surgery was performed 2 months ago and Muneendar has lost over 70 KGs already. He is expected to lose another 80-90 KGs in the near future.
After the surgery, Muneendar, 24, was kept in medical observation and the disctors continued to treat him. He’s at 170 KGs now and could soon be hitting the sub-100 mark.
