National Women Commission To Send Fact-Finding Committee to AmaravatiIt is known to our readers that National Commission for Women has taken suo-moto cognizance of a complaint on Twitter wherein it has alleged that Women Farmers were brutally beaten and throttled by AP Police during their protest against the decision to trifurcate the Capital.

The Commission had previously written to DGP Gautam Sawang to submit a detailed report of the Police Brutality. Now, the Commission Chairperson, Rekha Sharma announced that a fact-finding committee is being sent to Amaravati to verify the reports about the violence on the agitating women farmers.

The fact-finding committee will reach Vijayawada tomorrow and will proceed to Amaravati. They are likely to interact with the victims as well as the local police. This is regarding the incident which happened in Mandhadam village on January 3rd wherein women farmers are forcibly stuffed into a van.

Several women sustained injuries and a policeman is caught on camera using cuss words on them.
