Finally the moment has come. After successfully leading Gujarat to the heights of development, Narendra Modi finally stepped down as Gujarat Chief Minister today to take up national responsibilities as 14th Prime Minister of India. He will meet the governor and submit his resignation. Earlier in the day, Gujarat Assembly convened a special session to bid farewell for Narendra Modi.
All the members spoke high of the outgoing Chief Minister and competed to felicitate him. Narendra Modi in his farewell speech thanked everyone naming each of the member of the house. Mod’s protege Anandiben Patel is expected to replace Narendra Modi as Gujarat Chief Minister.She will be sworn in as the chief minister on May 22 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar in the presence of Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh, and other party notables like L K Advani.
