Narendra Modi Government has opened vaccination to all the people above 18 years of age starting from May 1st. The registrations have started on Cowin and Arogyasetu app from April 28th at 4 PM. Initially, there were a lot of technical issues which did not allow the users to register.
Later the issues were resolved and a whopping 1.32 Crore persons have registered on the first day. But then, all the 1.32 Crore citizens were in shock as there were no slots for vaccines for the 18-44 years age group in any parts of the country. There is no information whatsoever when the slots will open.
The Central Government has not given clarity about what is going to happen next. 1.32 Crore registered but not a single person is given a slot. On the other side, there is an acute shortage of the vaccine even for those who are aged over 45 years. Many have been missing their second shot duration.
People belonging to the 45+ age group even though registered a slot are coming back empty-handed after going to the vaccine centers. It looks like the entire vaccination drive seems to be in a mess!
