KCR - Narendra ModiNITI Aayog has constituted a high powered committee of Chief Ministers for “Transformation of Indian Agriculture” in compliance with the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The committee would be convened by Devender Fadnavis and serviced by NITI Aayog.

The committee comprises of the Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, UP, Madhya Pradesh along with Agriculture Minister and a member of NITI Aayog. Interestingly, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao whose Rythu Bandhu scheme was replicated by the center earlier this year is missing in the committee.

TRS Leaders allege that the Prime Minister is insecure about KCR and his growing popularity among the farmers and so kept him away from the committee. Meanwhile, BJP leaders say KCR did not even attend the recent NITI Aayog meeting and he can not expect himself to be a part of the committee.

Let us see if this committee really does something to Transform the Agriculture in the country.
