Telangana Cabinet will meet on Saturday afternoon and will likely decide on extending the nationwide Lockdown in the state beyond April 14th. The meeting presided over by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will be held at 3 pm at Pragati Bhavan, Rao’s official residence.
The cabinet will also review the State’s economic situation, assistance given to the poor and procurement of agriculture produce, recent hailstorm. There are reports that Telangana may unilaterally extend the Lockdown just on the lines of Odisha which extended the Lockdown till April 30th.
KCR was the first Chief Minister to advocate for the Lockdown extension. With the Center not making an announcement, KCR may extend it. We are on the seventeenth day of Twenty One Days of Nationwide Lockdown. Telangana recorded 471 cases, as per the medical bulletin released last night.
Across the nation, there are 6,412 cases, according to the stats available with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Unofficial numbers say the cases will be more than 7,000.
