Narendra-Modi-Government-Watered-the-Hopes-of---YS-JaganAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to confine the Lockdown Extension only to Red Zones. Jagan was eager to restart the economy and proposed this idea. Lockdown extension will mean the Government will suffer a lot for the necessary funds for various welfare schemes.

Some say this is to finish the local elections as soon as possible and score political points over TDP. Central Government gave some relaxations post-April 20th while the complete Lockdown is confined only to Hotspots. But then, Jagan proposed the idea of taking Mandals as Unit.

According to that, only 81 Mandals out of the total 676 mandals in the state. But then, the Center has taken Districts as the unit. Accordingly, eleven of the thirteen districts of Andhra Pradesh were made the hotspots and will follow the Lockdown religiously. Only Srikakulam and Vizianagaram managed to get the exemption.

In comparison, Telangana got good relief with only eight out of the total 33 districts were made hotspots. It is not clear if KCR will take the offer. It is known to our readers that KCR announced the complete lockdown of the state till April 30th even before Narendra Modi extended the Lockdown.
