Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Fight against EVMs. Modi says that this is a struggle of desperation as Congress and its allies have lost the election in the first phase itself. Modi has alleged that Chandrababu has made it a single point agenda to target him as he knows already their allies are losing.
“Blaming EVMs is like they are blaming the Umpire in Cricket after they are declared ‘out’,” Modi took a jibe against Chandrababu Naidu led 21 Opposition Parties who tried unsuccessfully to pursue the Supreme court to count 50% of the VVPATs to ensure that the EVMs are not Tampered.
It is interesting to note that BJP has made similar allegations on the EVMs while in the Opposition. Their National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP, GVL Narasimha Rao even wrote a Book about how EVMs can be tampered. But then, BJP under Modiji has become a master in spinning the Words like how it went back on the Special Status Promise of AP.
