It is more or less confirmed that Nara Lokesh will be facing the first election of his life from Bheemili in Vishakapatnam. Minister Ghanta Srinivasa Rao is the sitting MLA here and he may go to Vishakapatnam North to accommodate Lokesh. Chandrababu kept both the seatings pending after Vishakapatnam District Review the other day.
That indicates Bheemili may be the chosen seat for Lokesh. For a long time, there were discussions saying that Lokesh may contest from Kuppam or any safe seat in Krishna or Guntur districts. But Lokesh surprised everyone by choosing Bheemili. Interestingly, Bheemili does not have a significant presence of Kamma Population.
Lokesh does not want the Caste influence on his Political Career and so selected Bheemili. After winning in Bheemili, no one can claim that Lokesh won due to Caste Support. This is a really good decision by Lokesh. He will be taking on Anakapalli MP Avanthi Srinivas who recently left TDP to join YSR Congress.
Furthermore, Bheemili is a stronghold for TDP. The Cycle Party always won from Bheemili since its inception except for 2004 and 2009 elections. In 2004, TDP candidate lost with just 241 votes. Since 2014, Bheemili saw very good development. Also, Lokesh contesting from here will also improve TDP’s prospects in the entire Uttarandhra.
