Chittoor is the native district of TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu.
Out of the fourteen constituencies of the erstwhile district, TDP managed to win only one and it is Naidu himself winning from Kuppam.
Minister Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy took the district prestigiously and hit TDP here big time. TDP has got severe drubbing here in the local elections as well.
It has gone to the extent of YSR Congress leaders claiming to defeat Chandrababu as well in Kuppam.
A recent internal survey of the party also said that Chittoor remains a weak district for TDP even though the party has improved drastically in the state.
Naidu recently decided to tour districts per month as a preparation for the 2024 elections.
The tour will begin from the Chittoor district itself indicating that Naidu had taken it seriously.
From Chittoor, Naidu’s tour will progress to the rest of the Rayalaseema districts where the YSR Congress is still strong.
