Nandamuri Family and Telangana Elections HistoryTelugu Desam Founding President Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao contested and won from Nalgonda Assembly as the Caretaker Chief Minister back then. He also won from Gudivada and Hindupur seats back then. He retained Hindupur and resigned for the other two seats. He contested from two seats in 1989 elections.

He contested from Hindupur in Rayalaseema and Kalwakurthy in Telangana. It was a sensation back then that NTR lost to Congress Candidate Chitranjan Das in Kalwakurthy. From then, neither NTR nor any member of NTR family contested from Telangana. And now, after 29 years, Nandamuri Family Member and Harikrishna’s Daughter, Suhasini is contesting in Telangana.

She has already filed nomination from Kukapally. It has to be seen if she will win this election. If she wins, she will also be the first Nandamuri member to have a five years tenure from a seat in Telangana. Earlier, NTR did not continue in Nalgonda even though he won and continued as MLA from the other seat.
