Telangana Government has extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to inaugurate the prestigious Metro Rail Project in the city and a confirmation was awaited from the PMO. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 30-km Miyapur-Nagole stretch.
But then, the 30-km stretch, which will comprise portions of two corridors, may not be ready in time. Sources say that even if the launch happens as planned, expecting trains to run from the day of inauguration would be asking for too much.
That will mean that it will be just a Namesake launch. A total of 82% of the work has been completed on all the three stretches that have been planned in the city.Only 18% of the work is left but it is this work that will make all the difference to the inauguration.
