chandrababu naidu planning bullet train to amaravathiAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seem to be a very ambitious man. Naidu is keen to link the upcoming capital of the state with the proposed high speed train corridor between Chennai and Hyderabad. The state government is actively considering a proposal to rope in firms from China and Japan to take up this project.

The government already pin pointed 40 such stations in the CRDA limits which will be a part of this semi-high speed or high speed train network. Besides the district headquarter towns of Machilipatnam and Guntur, municipal towns like Gudivada, Tenali, Sattenapalle and Mangalagiri would be included in the high speed train connectivity plan. The state government wants to execute this idea at any cost so as to lure investors and tourists to the capital city area

The Central government proposed Chennai-Hyderabad high speed rail network in the last railway budget and a Japanese firm is roped in to conduct the feasiblity study. DMRC suggested the state government to opt for high speed rail instead of the proposed Metro project due to less cost. While the proposed metro rail project is expected to cost around Rs 250-Rs 300 crore per km, the high speed train network would cost around Rs 70-Rs 100 per km.
