Telangana Assembly has moved a bill to increase the Reservations for Muslims from 4% to 12% and the reservations of STs from 6% to 10%. This step is a political master stroke in terms of Vote Bank Politics from TRS. This is a direct target on the Vote Bank of Congress and MIM.
Even though Center does not help in increasing the reservations, TRS will put the blame on BJP and will take the credit for making an attempt. In either case, TRS will be gaining.from the issue. Muslims, especially in Hyderabad and GHMC limits, are loyal to MIM and Congress for ages, they are likely to shift to TRS with this move.
TRS will blame BJP for being a hindrance to their efforts of developing all the sections of the state by playing communal politics. However, TRS will be hoping that the General Category people will not get offended with this increase.
The newly proposed reservations for Muslims and STs will take the reservations from the existing 50% to 62%. The Chief Minister also proposed increasing of reservations to SCs by 1% going further and that will take the total Reservations to 63%.
