Reports from the East Godavari district are that YSR Congress is in advanced talks with Former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham to join the party.
The party is reportedly promising him ‘appropriate respect’ if he joins.
Jagan wants to neutralize the possible effect of Pawan Kalyan and Janasena on the Kapu community, especially in the Godavari districts.
Mudragada cornered TDP in the name of the Kapu reservations movement. Chandrababu sent a resolution to the center giving half of the EBC quota to the Kapu community.
Chandrababu also used to give 1000 Crore per year to Kapu corporation to implement various schemes to benefit the community.
YSR Congress had thrown the issue into the dustbin after that and even stopped giving funds to Kapu Corporation. But Mudragada is always tilted towards YSR Congress only.
He called off the movement and every now and then is writing open letters blaming the opposition on many issues and helping YSRCP.
