Narasapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju has sent a Legal Notice to CID Additional DGP Sunil Kumar. He asked for the iPhone confiscated by the CID police during his arrest. He went to say that the seized iPhone is not shown in the records anywhere and should be returned to him.
“The phone has the personal data of my family members. It also has crucial data pertaining to the party given that I am a standing member of a Parliament committee. The phone is crucial for the discharge of my duties as an MP and Standing committee member,” Raghu Rama told in the notice.
He warned of civil and criminal actions in case his phone is not returned at the earliest. It has to be seen how CID responds to it. Legal experts say CID has erred in this aspect. “If the iPhone has been seized, it should have been shown in the records. It is a crime to retain the phone in their custody without showing it in the records,” experts say.
It is already known to our readers that RRR has approached the Supreme Court demanding CBI inquiry over the custodial violence he faced in CID custody. The next hearing of it will happen later this month.
