Actress and Politician Jayaprada met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday to invite him for her son’s marriage. Media quizzed her if there is an political reason behind their meeting, but the actress did not reply in negative aiding the rumours of the former actress joining TDP. Jayaprada started her political career with Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh during NTR’s regime.
She went along with Chandrababu’s faction after NTR’s dethroning. She was nominated to the Rajya Sabha representing Andhra Pradesh in 1996. She also held the post of Telugu Mahila President but later came out of TDP due to differences with Chandrababu. She later migrated to UP politics by joining Samajwadi Party. After divorce with Samajwadi, She was with Ajith Singh’s RLD for some time. She recently lost the 2014 elections contesting from Bijnor.
TDP already have Nandamuri family supporting it. Also Janasena President Pawan Kalyan is moving close with the party. He already campaigned for the party in last elections. If Jayaprada joins TDP, it will add more glamour to the party.
