Prime Minister Narendra Modi stirred an unwanted controversy by signing on Indian flag which was supposed to be gifted to Obama. Vikas Khanna who is a popular celebrity chef who recently cooked for PM’s dinner got the flag to be handed over to Obama. However, after an online storm brewed in no time and even trended on top India wide, officials reversed the decision and flag was taken away by the ministry of external affairs.
There were flood of tweets made #ModiDisrespectsTricolour trended on top though some people called the outrage is an over reaction, most of the tweets read PM has insulted the Indian symbol by violating the code flag.
Modi wouldn’t have expected to kick an online storm when Chef Vikas Khanna said he would hand the flag over to Obama. But National flag the pride of 125 Crore people of India so any minor issue with it will be highlighted.
