Chandrababu Naidu with narendra Modi postponedThe much awaited meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu resulted in no good news regarding the Special Status. The meeting did not yield any decision over the promised Special Status but Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said there should be further discussion on this issue. The meeting went on for about one and half hour.

The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Senior officials of AP government, PMO Officials, Officials of Finance Ministry and Vice President of Niti Aayog. It is said that they had a detailed meeting over implementation of the promises made in Reorganization.

After the meeting, Jaitley said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed that the specific commitments with regards to the act should be honoured. The Prime Minister asked Niti Aayog Vice President to work with the state government officials and prepare a road map for fulfilling them. It is interesting to note that Special Status is not included in the act.
