tdp mlc electionsRuling parties of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have got a shock of their life with the MLC results. Both TDP and TRS managed to win one seat each but lost one more. TRS which was traditionally weak in Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts lost the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad seat to BJP and TDP combine candidate. The alliance once again proved its hold in the settlers by winning this seat sending danger bells to TRS ahead of the GHMC elections. Even a high profile candidate like Devi Prasad, TNGOs President could not win it for TRS here.

On the other side, TDP which won Krishna-Guntur Teachers Seat easily lost the Godavari districts seat. TDP had a rebel candidate contesting here who took away significant vote share contributing for the loss. Congress supported candidates barely managed any votes in both the states. YSR Congress totally stood away from this election by not supporting any candidate.

Whatever may be the reason for the losses, ruling parties will have tough time defending these loses. The implications will be more seen in Telangana as GHMC elections and Sanathnagar bielection are round the corner.
