Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna won as the MLA for the first time from Ramachandrapuram in 2019. He became minister in Jagan’s Cabinet luckily after Pilli Subash Chandrabose resigned and went to Rajya Sabha.
But then, Venugopala Krishna is on a slippery ground in his own constituency. His own, Settibalija community is not happy with the Minister after he hurt their self-respect when he touched the feet of YV Subba Reddy.
They also are angry with him for not standing with the community youth arrested during Konaseema district agitation. Moreover, the Minister is also not in talking terms with Pilli Subash Chandrabose.
YSR Congress cadre fears that the party may lose Ramachandrapuram if Venugopala Krishna is the candidate because of anti-incumbency and combined with a lack of support from the community.
