MIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi accomapanied by his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi today met Telangana’s Chief Minister designate K.Chandra Sekhar Rao. It is said that MIM leader refused TRS’ offer to join the government but promised his party’s full support to the TRS government for the development of Telangana and Hyderabad city. Earlier there were talks that KCR offered Deputy Chief Minister post to MIM but that is not going to happen now. MIM reportedly asked for 1000 Crore minority budget and demanded Urdu to be made first language and Charminar as symbol of Telangana state.
The TRS has a simple majority of 63 in the Assembly of 119, but faces no threat from the Congress or BJP-TD combine since they do not have sufficient strength in the Assembly.The MIM, which has seven MLAs and one MP, is a formidable force in Hyderabad and TRS wants to use it to gain grip on the Capital city. Political experts say this friendship is aimed at winning the Mayor seat of Hyderabad in the upcoming GHMC elections.
