Presidential Candidate of 17 Opposition Parties, Meira Kumar has filed her nomination a little while ago. She is accompanied by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders of the Opposition.
Telangana PCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy and Opposition Leader Jana Reddy were among those who signed the nomination papers seconding her candidature. Polling for the country’s top titular post will take place on 17 July and counting of votes will happen on 20 July.
Meira Kumar is also a Dalit like NDA’s Candidate, Ram Nath Kovind and is the daughter of Dalit Icon Jagajivan Ram. But then, as per the permutations and combinations existing, Ram Nath Kovind’s Victory should be very easy and the contest is going to be nominal.
