Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has come to power in 2014 elections promising a World Class Capital for the truncated state. Chandrababu is struggling to make it happen due to the bad finances of the state and center which barely helps.
Media has also become a tormentor for Naidu trying to showcase his difficulties as failures. The other day, a News Channel had aired a Breaking News that a Lift in the Transit Secretariat in Velagapudi has failed and four people have struck in it.
Lift failures are quite common and the service interruption is about 10 minutes but that became a breaking news for the media. The current Secretariat in Hyderabad also has a sea of problems but we have seen how Velagapudi got so much of bad coverage for a simple plumbing problem/conspiracy.
Both these incidents reveal that how media is hellbent on proving that Naidu is a failure and in the process is insulting the self-respect of people of Andhra by showcasing the upcoming capital in the poor light just as how the Opposition Party does.
