The erstwhile Kurnool district was a stronghold for Jagan’s YSRCP. The party won 14/14 MLA constituencies in the Kurnool district back in 2019 Andhra Pradesh in elections.
Cut to now, TPD supremo Chandrababu Naidu toured Kurnool today and he was welcomed by huge crowds.
Naidu toured 3 assembly constituencies in Kurnool today and all his public events saw massive crowd turnouts, much to the delight of the local TDP leadership.
YSRCP did try to interfere with the same, saying Chandrababu should write a statement saying Kurnool should be the judicial capital of Andhra Pradesh, as proposed by YSRCP.
The Jagan party even orchestrated planned protests to take the spotlight from Chandrababu’s tour. But none of this worked as the common public turned out in big numbers for Naidu’s events.
Political observers are saying this could be indicative of the public trend in Kurnool, and possibly in all of Andhra Pradesh. The massive turnout for Naidu in YCP’s strongest area implies the same.
