According to the latest reports, another mass shooting has taken place at the Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville. Multiple victims are being treated. The ‘suspect’ shooter has also been shot dead by police officers.
At least four people have been killed, and multiple people get injured after a gunman opened fire at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Metro Nashville Police Department tweeted: “An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr. The shooter, was engaged by MNPD and is dead.”
After the shooting began, students were seen running from the building in their school uniforms.
According to the Nashville Fire Department’s statement, there were ‘multiple patients,’ but their conditions were not immediately clear.
Over 200 students attend The Covenant School from pre-school to sixth grade (3-12 years old). The Nashville FD has issued a statement that parents coming to the school should go to 20 Burton Hills.
It is unfortunate that school students are being targeted in these mass shootings. In the USA, more than two-thirds of parents worry a shooting could happen at their children’s school.
It is reported that more than 100 mass shootings have hit the US in the last one year.
