For a while now, there have been reports that YCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is distraught with the party high command. He is one of the giant killers in YCP as he defeated Nara Lokesh in 2019, but has been of the opinion that he is not receiving due recognition from the party.
Incidentally, the YCP high command has now made a strong move against RK in a sensitive time while he is in the USA.
YCP has changed the party regional president for Mangalagiri and Tadepalli segments which constitute over half of Mangalagiri MLA constituency. The party has appointed Donthireddy Vema Reddy as the regional president for these segments.
Reportedly, this change was made without even an intimation to RK who is currently touring in the USA. More importantly, RK’s ardent supporters, Malleswara Rao, and Venugopala Swami Reddy who were previously serving as presidents for these regions were axed.
It is heard that RK and Vema Reddy are in worse possible terms and the former had already complained to the high command that the latter is working against him internally. Now, YCP has gone on to appoint Vema Reddy in key position while RK is not in the constituency.
This comes after RK had been staying away from YCP activities. He is apparently distraught about not getting a cabinet berth despite beating Lokesh in 2019 elections. Now, the YCP high command has dropped a bomb on his head by axing his men from key positions and appointing his arch rival there.
RK used to irk the TDP government with court cases and legal battles. But as it appears, it might be tough for him to even get the Mangalagiri MLA ticket in the next election.
