Mahakutami Leaders meeting governorThe Leaders of Mahakutami Parties paid a visit to the Governor ESL Narasimhan this afternoon at Raj Bhavan and handed him the memorandum which states that Congress, TDP, CPI, and TJS have gone together in this election by submitting a Common Minimum Program to the Election Commission.

They have demanded the Governor to treat all of them as the Single Largest Party in case of hung. The Memorandum has the signatures of all the Presidents of the parties in Mahakutami. This move is seen as a step to prevent a possible involvement of the Central Government through the Governor’s Office.

We have recently seen the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir dissolving the State Assembly even though PDP, National Congress, and Congress came together to form the Government. The Governor simply refused to treat them as a Single Largest Party and issued Notification for Dissolving the Assembly.

Apparently, Mahakutami parties do not want that to happen in Telangana. With this move, the Governor can not ignore Mahakutami if the Hung situation arises. Historically, Telugu people always gave a clear mandate. With 73.2% Voting Registered, it is likely that the Election will have a clear Winner. The counting will begin tomorrow at 8 AM.
