The construction company of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project seems to be vexed with the Telangana government over various issues. The government has asked the concessionaire to halt the work at Assembly and Sultan Bazaar following a re-alignment announcement and there are no further orders from the government since them. L&T is incurring a loss of 2 Crore per day due to the halting of the work. The man power and machinery of the company are not being utlised to their full capacity and are sitting idle from the last three months incurring a huge loss.

L&T also allege that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and traffic police are not co-operating and giving the required permissions. On the other side, the changes occurred in Hyderabad after state division and Government’s delay in allotting ‘Right of Way’ required for construction are taking a toll on the project economics too. Recently L&T has written to Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited to relieve them from the project and pay all the cost they invested so far along with their legally eligible other benefits. On the other side, HMRL is restricting itself to counter attacking or defending the allegations being made with out showing any solution. L&T Managing director has written a letter to the government over the alignment issues a week back but there is no reply yet.
