government unleashed land acquisitionAndhra Pradesh government finally unleashed the Land Acquisition Act-2013 on the reluctant farmers belonging to the Capital notified villages. The government already managed to pool in about 30000 acres in the area with its land pooling policy. This land acquisition is for the farmers who did not give their lands and for the farmers who are asking their land pooling agreement letters back.

G.O. No. 166 about this land acquisition is released by the government a short while ago. The government also removed the crucial social impact assessment clause for this Capital Construction project.

Most of these lands are along the banks of Krishna River. The government had a target of pooling 2989 acres from Tadepalli-1, Vundavalli and Penumaka villages but only managed 1100 acres through land pooling. There are some lands to be acquired in Nidamarru, Bethapudi and Errablem. 500 acres are to be acquired from Rayapudi, Mandhadam, Velagapudi and Lingayapalem.
