Kuppam -a relatively unknown place in the state is now known to every one and the only reason is Nara Chandra Babu representating it. The Telugu Desam leader is representing the state from 1989 and is comfortably winning it every time. It is not that he is winning for unknown reasons. He had developed the region very well With broad roads, shady trees, hospitals, a highly efficient drip irrigation system based on Israeli technology.
He does not stop there 100s of students study in NTR Public school in Hyderabad for free and he pay fees for several engineering students from the area in various engineering colleges across the state. And for all the work he did, Kuppam people gift him an effortless win. Mr. Naidu hardly ever comes here. His son Lokesh files his nomination on his behalf and the locals collect money for his election deposit.
Interesting tidbit: the poor in Kuppam refused the Indiramma houses sanctioned by Congress government and vowed to take houses only from Chandra Babu’s government. Most of the houses of poor we see in Kuppam are built either during NTR or Chandra Babu’s regime.
