Reports are that Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao is looking to change his constituency for the 2024 elections.
The Minister who is currently representing the Sircilla constituency is planning to contest from Jubilee Hills or Khairatabad constituency.
Sircilla is one of the sure-shot seats for TRS in Telangana. But then, since BJP is having considerable influence over Urban areas of the state especially in and around Hyderabad, KTR wants to nullify it.
KTR contesting from Jubilee Hills or Khairatabad means it will have a positive impact on the constituencies of the entire GHMC area.
KTR has been representing Sircilla ever since 2009. In 2009, he won with a slender majority of just 171 votes and from then, the majority just kept rising.
In the 2010 by-poll, he won with 68,219 votes majority and in the 2018 elections, the majority went up to 89,009 votes.
KTR is vacating the constituency he won four times for the sake of the party.
