Kodandaram Sacrifices for Senior Congress Party LeaderFormer Minister and PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah had the last laugh. He fought with party high command and got back his Janagaon seat that was originally allotted to Telangana Jana Samiti as a part of seat sharing. Professor Kodandaram himself was to contest from this seat but he decided to make way for the Senior BC Leader.

Kodandaram may get to contest Warangal East instead now. Rahul Gandhi directly talked to Kodandaram and managed to convince the party to drop the seat. On the other side, there are rumours that Kodandaram may totally opt out of the contest. A clarity may emerge later on in the day or tomorrow.

Kodandaram reportedly felt that denying a ticket to Ponnala may send wrong signals to the BC Communities who constitute more than 50% of the population in Telangana. Congress has already come under attack for not even allotting a mere 20 seats for BCs while Reddys dominated all the list of candidates announced so far.
