Kishan Reddy Gets A Namesake Portfolio in Narendra Modi's CabinetPortfolios have been allocated to the Ministers in Narendra Modi‘s Cabinet. BJP President Amit Shah who was inducted into the cabinet has got Home Affairs Ministry. Rajnath Singh is given the Defence Ministry while Nirmala Sitharaman is moved to the Finance Ministry vacated by Arun Jaitley.

Piyush Goyal will be handling the portfolios of Railways, Commerce and Industry. Smriti Irani who emerged as a Giant Killer defeating Rahul Gandhi in Amethi is given Women and Child Development portfolio along with Textiles Ministry. Our readers are already aware that only Kishan Reddy is inducted into the Cabinet from both the Telugu States.

He is not even a cabinet rank minister and had to confine only with a Minister of State. He is given Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs which means he will be reporting to Amit Shah. He can be of very little help to both the Telugu States with such a portfolio.

For the First time, Andhra Pradesh has no representative in the Union Cabinet. Even when Chandrababu Naidu did not join Vajpayee Cabinet in 1999, Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya and CH Vidya Sagar Rao were in the Cabinet as BJP representatives. BJP drew a blank in Andhra Pradesh and the state has become the only state in the country without representation in the Union Cabinet.
