KCR in traditional dressTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s dream of having a new state of the art, Secretariat building is not moving any where. After failing with Erragadda hospital site, KCR pinned all his hopes on Bison Polo ground and Gymkhana ground in Secunderabad for the proposed Secretariat complex.

These lands belong to the defence ministry. KCR went to Delhi and appealed to Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar for these lands. KCR offered land for land compensation. However the ministry rejected the proposal and sought cash compensation for these lands.

Bison Polo Ground (37.565 acres) and Gymkhana Ground (23.467 acres) are to be bought by Telangana government from the defence ministry. At present, the cost of an acre land in prime area in Secunderabad could be more than Rs 10 crore. In that way, the land can cost at least 600 Crore.
